Atef Salem

 He was an esteemed Egyptian director and a pioneer of Realism in Egyptian cinema. He began his career in the 1940s and was known for sincerely and profoundly addressing social issues and marginalized classes. He directed timeless films that became rooted in the memory of Arab cinema, such as Gaa'louni Mugreman, Ayna Omry, and Al-Hirmaan. He left behind a significant cinematic legacy documenting the evolution of Egyptian society.
