 2015, a remote village in a remote region of Uzbekistan. Gulchehra earns her living by combing cotton wool. It is hard work, but she has little choice: she needs to support herself and her elderly mother-in-law. Her husband is working in another country and Gulchehra does not realise that he is not coming back. After the death of her mother-in-law, Gulchehra is left alone in a hostile world, where morals and hypocritical morality reign supreme.

Rashid Malikov

 He was born on July 3, 1958, in Moscow. He is a film director, screenwriter, and filmmaker, a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, and the Guild of Film Directors of Russia, and a Commander of the Order of DUSTLIK (Uzbekistan). Since 2023, he has been leading the Directing Workshop at the Tashkent Branch of VGIK.
