We Live Here

MENA premiere (Middle East and North Africa)

Kazakhstan | Kazakh, Russian | Color | 80 min

On the desolate Kazakh steppe, on the grounds of a former nuclear testing site, two ecologists conduct research to identify radioactive areas unfit for habitation. Nearby, an eyewitness to the nuclear tests records his memories, while his son struggles to save his sick daughter. Through three generations of one family, the film reflects on humanity’s collective history and the looming threat of a world turning into a nuclear wasteland.
