He broke into the international scene when his film “Television” was chosen as the closing night film of the 2012 Busan International Film Festival. “Television” won many awards including Grand Jury Prize at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA). Farooki’s films have been selected and awarded at many international film festivals and have represented Bangladesh at the Oscars three times.
