Synopsis

Single mother Mahnaz balances her nursing job with raising her children. As she plans her wedding to Hamid, her son’s school expulsion becomes the least of her worries when an unexpected tragedy forces her to fight for what’s right.

About the Director

He is an acclaimed Iranian filmmaker and screenwriter, born in 1989, known for his socially conscious, realistic cinema. A graduate of Soore University, he made a major impact with his 2016 debut, Life and a Day, winning nine Crystal Simorghs. His second film, Just 6.5, focused on drug addiction and earned a César nomination. Roustaee's latest work, Leila's Brothers, premiered successfully at Cannes, winning the FIPRESCI Prize, but was banned in Iran, resulting in a mostly suspended six-month prison sentence.
