Synopsis

In an old Palestinian practice, Mariam (74), suffering from dementia, remembers only the rain-calling chants from her youth. Wandering the streets, she’s found by her neighbor Aya (34), who anxiously awaits IVF results. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Naya hides evidence of her dwarf father’s existence when her friend Leen visits. About the Director

May Ghouti is a Jordanian writer/director. After a decade away due to motherhood, she joined Rawi Lab in 2019 to develop her feature narrative, Landslide. Her first short film, Huda (2020), won the Black Iris Award at the Amman International Film Festival, was a finalist at Wow Festival, and was selected for the Lebanese Independent Film Festival. *Landslide* received multiple awards in 2021.
