Synopsis

Matthias returns to his multi-ethnic village. He’s preoccupied with his old father, and eager to see his ex-lover, Csilla. When a new workers are hired at the factory that Csilla manages, the peace of the community is disturbed.

About the Director

A Romanian director, his debut film, OCCIDENT, premiered in Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes in 2002 and was an audience hit in Romania. His second feature, 4 MONTHS, 3 WEEKS AND 2 DAYS, was awarded the Palme d’Or in Cannes. BACALAUREAT, his fifth film presented in Cannes, won Best Director in 2016 and it was screened at CIFF.
