Synopsis
Life in a small town is akin to journeying in the middle of the steppes: the sense that "something new and different" will spring up behind every hill, but always unerringly similar, tapering, vanishing or lingering monotonous roads.

About the Director
He is regarded as one of the most prominent contemporary directors in world cinema. Ceylan has been honored with multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival across several editions. His film Distant (2003) won both the Grand Prix, while Three Monkeys (2008) earned him the Best Director Award. In 2011, Once Upon a Time in Anatolia received the Grand Prix once again, and his career reached a peak in 2014 when he won the Palme d’Or for his epic film Winter Sleep.
