Synopsis

 Zed, a New York-based British Pakistani rapper, is preparing for a long-awaited dream, his first world tour. A sudden and serious illness interrupts all his plans. He returns to his Pakistani family in London to reconnect with his family and origin while going through an inner journey. Riz Ahmed gives an electrifying performance in this engaging film that crosses its intimate themes into global and relatable ones.

About the Director

Born in Mexico City in 1979. The films he has written, directed and produced include Chronic (Best Screenplay Award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival), Las Hijas De Abril (Jury Prize, in Certain Regard at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival), and Despues De Lucia (Top Prize, in Certain Regard at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival).  Michel will be releasing his 6th feature film, New Order, set in a dystopian Mexico City, in early 2021.
