About the Director

An Egyptian director, who studied filmmaking at the Higher Institute of Cinema. He worked with a large number of directors such as Hussien Kamal and Sherif Arafa. He also worked in Yusri Nasrallah’s film MERCEDES, and Radwan El Kashef’s WHY VIOLET. His directorial debut was through THE GHOSTS OF ASPHALT in 1995, which received a Special Mention at the Locarno Film Festival. Then he directed FALLEN ANGELS PARADISE in 1999, which was screened in Locarno as well. He was also honored at the Arab World Institute in Paris.
