Synopsis
A photographer who is haunted by the feeling that the gap between his life and his ideals is growing finds himself obliged to put up in his apartment a young relative who has left behind his village looking for a job aboard a ship in Istanbul to go abroad.

About the Director
He is regarded as one of the most prominent contemporary directors in world cinema. Ceylan has been honored with multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival across several editions. His film Distant (2003) won both the Grand Prix, while Three Monkeys (2008) earned him the Best Director Award. In 2011, Once Upon a Time in Anatolia received the Grand Prix once again, and his career reached a peak in 2014 when he won the Palme d’Or for his epic film Winter Sleep.
