Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) announced today that registration for film and TV industry professionals for the second edition of the Cairo Industry Days (November 21 – 26) is now open.

As a registered participant of Cairo Industry Days film and TV professionals will have access to range of exciting and informative panels and masterclasses. The series of events offer unprecedented access to industry professionals from around the world that provide the opportunity to opens doors for partnerships and networking. Filmmakers also have access to three daily tickets to watch the diverse range of films screenings in the festival’s competitions screening in locations across the city.
The first edition of the Cairo Industry Days was launched during the 40th edition of the festival, and was a deemed phenomenal success. The line-up of events was attended by more than 200 key international and regional industry professionals with 32 participating projects, in addition two workshops focusing on film and TV script development. The programme also included seven film lectures, eight masterclasses and four panel discussions with the participation of international experts from inside and outside the Arab world.
Last May, CIFF announced opening submissions of the 6th Cairo Film Connection (CFC) which brings together international producers, distributors, and representatives from funding bodies, sales agents and TV channels to initiate international co-productions and partnerships with films from the Arab world. Furthermore, a jury of prominent film professionals will select projects to receive cash and in-kind prizes. During last year’s edition, the awards reached USD 120,000.
The festival announced the call for submissions for the second Screen Buzz TV Script Development workshop. The 5-day workshop focuses on screenwriting for TV projects from the Arab world, and offers participants the opportunity to develop their TV scripts with top Hollywood industry experts who have achieved global success.
In addition, the festival has also opened the call for submission for the 4-day Film Script Development workshop, organized in partnership with EAVE ON DEMAND, targeting six teams of Arab writers and producers, covering all aspects of the development stage of feature film projects, including script development strategies, the role of the producer, marketing and international sales, budgeting and financial planning as well as film project pitching.
