Feature Film Script Development Workshop
Cairo International Film Festival in Collaboration with Irth Content Development
The Cairo International Film Festival is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the “Feature Film Script Development” Workshop, dedicated to filmmakers and writers with feature-length fiction film projects.
The workshop offers an intensive, practical development program focused on strengthening selected screenplays across their dramatic, artistic, and production aspects, while helping each project reach a more comprehensive and refined stage of development. The workshop will also support participants in developing a clear vision for presenting and positioning their projects to producers, production companies, platforms, and other key stakeholders in the film industry.
The workshop will be led by screenwriter and author Haitham Dabbour, alongside the Irth Content Development team.
The workshop is not intended for initial ideas or early-stage concepts. It is designed for fully written, development-ready feature film projects with a clear artistic voice and vision, as well as genuine potential to progress toward production and the market.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Be an Egyptian citizen or resident of Egypt.
2. Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
3. Have written or directed at least one short film.
The workshop will take place during Cairo Industry Days as part of the 47th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (11–20 November 2026). Participants must commit to attending all workshop sessions and related programs.

Workshop Requirements
1. The submitted project must be a feature-length fiction film.
2. Applicants must submit a complete screenplay.
3. A film synopsis must be included with the application.
4. Applicants must submit a biography of the writer, including relevant experience and previous work, where applicable.
5. Applications may be submitted by a team consisting of a writer and director or a writer and producer, provided that all team members are actively working together on the submitted project.
6. The submitted screenplay must be registered with the Copyright Office or deposited with the Censorship Authority for Artistic Works. Applicants must provide official proof of registration or deposit, including the date of registration or deposit.
7. The applicant must be the original author of the screenplay or the legal rights holder authorized to submit and develop the work.
8. In the case of multiple authors or rights holders, the applicant confirms that all rights holders are aware of and consent to the submission and assumes responsibility for obtaining any necessary approvals from them.
9. If the screenplay is adapted from or based on a novel, short story, play, article, previous film, character, or any other copyrighted work, this must be clearly disclosed. The applicant must provide proof of ownership of, or the necessary rights to, the underlying work and its adaptation.
10. The applicant bears full responsibility for the accuracy of all information concerning the ownership and rights to the submitted work, as well as for any claims, disputes, or liabilities arising from inaccurate or incomplete information.
Workshop Announcement: Preparing the Actors: Training for the Camera
The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), in partnership with El Warsha, is pleased to announce a workshop for emerging actors entitled:
“Preparing the Actors: Training for the Camera”
Led by renowned acting coach Ahmed Mobark, this workshop aims to train actors to perform in front of the camera with the highest degree of authenticity and naturalism, enabling them to convincingly portray a wide range of human emotions.
Throughout the workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to work on and film a scene, while also being trained to develop new ideas, write them, and bring them to life in front of the camera.
Eligibility Requirements
- Egyptian citizen or resident.
- At least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Must have previous acting experience in at least one short film, stage play, or other performance.
The workshop will take place during Cairo Industry Days as part of the 47th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (11–20 November 2026). Participants must commit to attending all workshop sessions and related programs.
